David Johnston R +T Park

A unique, community-based research and technology park focused on fostering radical innovation. Ideas = research + talent + location.

The David Johnston Research + Technology Park houses technology-intensive companies undertaking applied research and innovative development in cooperation with the University of Waterloo. The park's cornerstone is its Accelerator Centre, which cultivates technology entrepreneurship, accelerates the growth of sustainable new technology companies, and promotes commercialization of research and technology rising out of post-secondary institutions. Providing a powerfully supportive base for radical, high-impact research, the park is an ideal place for innovative entrepreneurs seeking a commercial advantage through technological leadership.

  • Located on the University of Waterloo campus, the source of more Canadian high-tech and knowledge-based spin-off companies than any other post-secondary institution.
  • More than 70% of the world's GDP runs on software created by companies located in the park.
  • One of the largest research and technology parks in Canada, with 400 acres in total, including a beautiful 270-acre environmental reserve.
