Zones Québec Innovation Parks

Industrial research hubs that accelerate collaboration and networking among high-tech businesses and public research centres, creating environments which foster commercialization of innovations.

In Quebec, science and technology parks and “technology neighbourhoods” are part of innovation zones. These geographically-defined areas are designed to spur efficient networking and collaboration among companies and research centres, develop infrastructure with strict quality standards to attract high-technology foreign companies, and support technology startups. Zones Québec Innovation ensures consistent quality standards regarding the infrastructure and services of its certified members and acts as an information agent, guiding investors to the location best suited to their needs.

Innovation zones provide both foreign and local high-tech companies with the ideal conditions required for developing and marketing innovative products including fiscal incentives, networking with research centres and institutes, incubation services, specialized equipment, access to skilled workers, and business coaching. Each zone focuses on research or technology development of priority to the local economy and is the heart of commercialization activities.  Each job in a Québec innovation zone generates 2.6 additional jobs in the province’s economy.
